Do x-wings have seat belts?

7 needs to know. Space is weightless but what is really the probability of collision. If they have intertial dampers like the enterprise then the seat belt would be moot. However, they could be considered asthetic by 'pulling' the whole ensamble together.

Obviously Porkins didn't have/need one. The only way he was going to get out was by being blown apart. He knew that when he got in, his asto-mech made that "I'm screwed" whistle.

We must also consider the snow speeder (which had trouble adapting to the cold? What Lucas genious came up with that line). Aparently the same manufacturer. A two seater, unless you consider Dak, then he wasn't really all there now was he? It seemed to have a restraint system.

Also consider the y-wing. No one really considers the y-wing. It's the middle child of the fleet and forget the b-wing. It's just weird.

My vote is for yes as the rebelion needed to save as many asses as it could (sorry Porkins).

Comments:
First of all, X-Wings have a safety harness. These were installed due to the numerous complaints by intergalactic insurance companies. You see; when you replace the over a thousand cockpit lids due to cracks suffered when a pilots helmet collides with them dueing a full barrel roll... you get the point. Now that pilots are firmly strapped in, the only glass damaged suffered is when too much dogfighting leads to air sickness and eventually needing to squeegee off puke mixed with blue milk and Darjeeling.

Second, the B-Wing is most misundertood fighter in the fleet. Even in it's toy form it was far superior to many of the other ships to choose from. I remember extending it's wings and using it as a coat hanger and hat rack. It stood propped up in the corner of my bedroom like a dysfunctional scarecrow.

I would have to say yes, the X-Wing would have to have seatbelts. Even given that they have a devise to create artificial gravity in the cockpit, they got so shot up that this may fail at some point, and who really wants to be in a dog fight, loose their gravity and end up floating all around their cockpit. So yes, I believe that some sort of seatbelt would have been mandatory.
