Does not follow directions

Last night was back-to-school night at 7s brand new school. We mentioned to him that we would where going to change our clothes before we went. He decides to change his clothes too. Now, he was wearing a lime green shirt with muted green/plaid shorts. But he upped the ante sporting the same muted green/plaid shorts however now he donned a grey/plaid button down shirt. His mother was embarrassed and begged him to change one of the items. He did not. But this story isn't about 7 not following directions... read on

We are driving to the school giggling and wondering how many people will notice our boy's fashion faux pas. We walk into school prepared for the worse and see that we are the one of the first to arrive. Great, now everyone will see us with the coordinated kid. Then we notice that there is a severe lack of children at this event. I mean severe. I mean 7&8 where the only kids there, and there were 100+ parents. I was mad, at my self for missing the 'don't bring your kids' instruction. I searched the flyer when I got home and there was NO mention that this would be an experience just for mom and dad.

So we stuck out like a sore thumb, I only wish it was for mixing plaids.

BTW both kids where exceptionally well behaved, I was very proud.

LOFL!!! That's GREAT!!!! What an experience. Isn't it great how they just "forget" to let you know that no kids are allowed. What kind of back to school night is that anyways? They should have like an open house or something, where you can go meet the teachers etc......kid friendly. Nice outfit choice though, I must say. I used to have to dress like that when I was a kid, but my Mom was the one who MADE me. :D sounds like you're having a better week than on Friday, that's good to hear.
